This development, owned by a local rancher who is doing his own development, is our farthest from the lake, but it's an interesting location with perhaps the most economical lots. The large property has a total of 55 lots as presently configured, ranging in size from about 1/4 acre to about 1 1/2 acres. Currently just five of the smaller lots have been readied for sale, each priced around $15,000 ($12 per square meter). The development, of about 50 acres, is at the base of the dormant Tenorio Volcano on a secondary road that joins the paved Lake Arenal-Sabalito road to the paved road from the Internamerican Highway to Upala. Thus, it is almost an hour to Tilaran, but it is closer to Liberia's international airport than is Tilaran. Besides the wonderful view to the Tenorio Volcano, there are views to the other northern volcanos, the vast hill country, and, from some lots, the Guanacaste lowlands, including the Rio Tempisque basin. There is water to each lot at present, but electrical service is still at least several hundred yards away.

These photos show the dorman Tenorio Volcano as clouds roll by. The volcano in actuality appears much closer than it seems in these photos. Also visible from this development are the volcanos Miravalles and Rincon de la Vieja. There are various volcanic features such as hot pools, smokey fumaroles, and hot mud at the bases of all three, the most at Rincon de La Vieja.

This lot is has more forest than most. There is thick forest along the northern edge where a stream flows through the forest as seen at left.
